Faster Backups with Computer Associate's ARCserveIT

TGVARCS interfaces directly to ARCserveIT 6.x to control backup devices under Novell NetWare/IntranetWare 4.x,  MS Windows NT and IBM OS/2. It allows backups of commercial data at speeds of 85-95 MB/Min (DAT) , and 165-365 MB/Min (Digital Linear Tape). Restore speeds are also proportionately enhanced.

Reduces Novell Synchronization Overhead

Novell 3.x and 4.x SFT III are supported by the Aerial SCSI Enhancement Kit. Optimizing SCSI I/O and running mirrored drives efficiently reduces the overhead required to keep Novell servers synchronized. Servers spend less time self-managing, and more time responding to the needs of network users.

Tuned Individual Hard Disks for Peak Performance

Enhanced disk performance is an additional benefit for all operating systems. Utilities in the Aerial SCSI Enhancement Kit raise disk performance by tuning the disk for a specific OS environment. Disk write speed is improved by an average of 80% and read speed by 30%.

One Complete Solution

By combining PerifiTech's TGVARCS software, Disk Optimization Utility and SCSI Controller to address the key
elements to efficient operation, the Aerial SCSI Enhancement Kit allows virtually any network server or workstation to achieve peak performance.

PerifiTech Presents Single Driver Connectivity and SCSI Optimization Solutions for Novell, Windows NT and OS/2

PerifiTech offers a value added alternative to standard SCSI driver implementation on servers and workstations. It provides a single driver interface between the operating system and SCSI devices. Traditional SCSI communications require a universal driver layer, (ASPI) to talk to the host operating system. An additional layer of individual drivers is used by the different SCSI devices to communicate with each other through the ASPI layer. This creates excessive overhead and degrades performance.

The TGVARCS™  Single Software Layer

PerifiTech's Enhancement Driver, TGVARCS, installs as a single software layer, alleviating the traditional ASPI bottleneck and resulting in optimized SCSI communication between devices. Server utilization is reduced five-fold, making "online" backups a reality and transparent to the user community. Installation of TGVARCS is faster and easier than the ASPI installation process, where multiple SCSI device drivers, and a specific order are required for successful installation.
